Three Reds - Apples - 12" x 6" oil SOLD
(click here to bid) or to check other auctions.
The size of this one is a little different than I've done before. I think it turned out pretty well.
This is probably the last painting of 2007. Have a Happy New Year!

"O" glass marble and block - 8" x 10" oil
Here is another "tight" detail painting. I struggled with the title on this one. I was going to call it "2 bee..." but I couldn't tell if the critter on the side of the block was a butterfly or a bee. So I settled on a simple "O". Enjoy!
Clouds - 16" x 20" oil
(click here to bid) or check other auctions.
This is larger than I usually do. I needed to take a break from the "tight" detail work of my smaller paintings and loosen up and use big brushes on a big canvas. Enjoy!

Glass marbles - orange - 8" x 10" oil
(click here to bid) or check other auctions
I picked up some antique marbles earlier this year. This is a painting of two of them. I like the way the image in the clear marble is reversed and upside down. The nicks and scratches in the marble add interest.

Sunlit glass - 18" x 24" oil
Well, here's the finished painting. Like I mentioned earlier, this is quite a bit larger than my normal paintings. I enjoyed the process of going large. It's different than doing a smaller painting. While working on smaller paintings I can spend all of my time sitting at the easel. With a large painting I kept having to get up, walk across the room to look at the progress. When you're close to this painting, it looks kind of like an abstract. You see just shapes and colors, but when you get across the room, it all comes together and looks pretty realistic. Enjoy.

Reflections - American Flag 8" x 10" oil SOLD
About this painting: This is the second painting in a series called "Reflections". The subject is going to be the reflection in the object, not necessarily the object itself. It could be an interior scene, landscape, or something else. In this case the subject is a reflection of an American flag in front of one of our local schools. Enjoy!

"Reflections" - Pear on table - 8" x 10" oil SOLD
This is the first painting in a series called "Reflections". In this series the subject is going to be the reflection in the object and not necessarily the object itself. The reflections will not only be still life type scenes but you will see some outdoor scenes as well. This first one is of a pear sitting on a table. If you look close you can also see other things in the room, like chairs, the sun coming in through the window, and even a candleabra. Enjoy.

Tree and blue sky 16" x 20" oil SOLD
This is a departure from my still lifes. It's quite a bit larger than what I normally do as well.
We went through a real hot humid spell here in Indiana a couple weeks ago. On this day the humidity dropped and the temperature was very comfortable. With the comfortable temps and the beautiful blue sky and puffy white clouds it was a great day.
Silver, lemon, and grapes 5" x 7" oil
This is a unique little glass. It is cup made from glass with silver coating on the inside. It was a little challenging due to the fact of painting the reflection from the silver but also it has glass characteristics, especially at the bottom of the cup.
