"Blues - marbles" 14" x 11" acrylic

(click here to bid) or to check other auctions.

More marbles. It's cool and fun to paint these. Here's a grouping of different variations of blue marbles. The one on the left is translucent and the other two are solid(opaque). You can see the reflections of the light surface in the two marbles on the right, but the one on the left actually shows the background "flipped" upside down. The dark background is on the lower part of the marble.

This one came about from a trip to an antique store and mother in laws house. Antique store scored me the ball. Not sure what it is, it may be a pin ball, not sure. While visiting my mother in law I got to sort through her Pez collection. I picked out several for subjects to paint. Here's the first one. Mickey Mouse.

SOLD Go To.... - Monopoly 7" x 5" colored pencil

SOLD

This is a close up cropped piece of a Monopoly board. It's kind of cool painting white objects. They aren't really white. If you look close in the dice you can see a lot of different colors. Even the white of the cop there are hints of light pink.

Red Apple with Green Bottle - 5" x 7" colored pencil

(click here to bid) or to check other auctions.

I wanted to work with dark shadow areas on this one. You'll notice that parts of the objects get "lost" in the shadows. I was curious to see if I could get the darks dark enough with colored pencil. It took a lot of burnishing, but I got it pretty dark.
