"Fall Colors - Trees" 7" x 5" oil SOLD

SOLD
(click here to bid) or to check other auctions.

We were on our way to Tims Ford state park(here in middle Tennessee) for some reference material for some future paintings. When I saw this group of trees displaying their fall splendor, I just had to stop and capture some reference photos. I just love the fall when the leaves start changing. Turning from shades of green to wonderful shades of everything from deep reds to bright yellows. The only bad thing is it only lasts a few weeks so you have to try to capture as much reference as possible to last through the winter.
Enjoy!

Here's a nice large painting of apples and daisies. I did a miniature of this a few years ago. I thought I would try to go large on the same composition and I think it turned out pretty good.

Three Pears on Table MINIATURE 3 1/2" x 2 1/2"

Here is another mini painting. I really liked the way the colors turned out. I bought these pears and that sat around for a while before I decided to paint them. They got really ripe and started changing into these great colors(they started out green). I'm offering this painting framed as shown on ebay. Enjoy!

Silver Tea Pot with Green Apple - Miniature 3 1/2" x 2 1/2"(approx)

(click here to bid) or to check other auctions.
This is a MINIATURE PAINTING of a silver tea pot with a green apple reflected in it.
Notice the quarter in the picture for size reference.
I really like painting these little guys. It takes the same technique and almost as much time to paint as the larger paintings. You just use smaller brushes. If you look close you can still see the brush strokes just like the larger paintings.
These paintings can be displayed on a table or shelf with a small table easel or framed in a photo frame sized for wallet size pictures. Just take the glass out.
If you would like to ask me about displaying or frames please email me at jclapp@jclappart.com
Enjoy!

Banana with Green Apples 6" x 6" oil SOLD

SOLD
(click here to bid) or to check other auctions.
Sometimes when working on a painting everything comes together. What I mean by that is, that sometimes I struggle with a painting. Either with the composition, color, or the way the brush applies the paint. This one came together and just seemed to flow effortlessly. I really like the way the colors came out and also how you can see just a hint of the brush strokes.
As you can see by the picture above I painted this on a hardboard panel with a wood frame. I painted the edge black so it can be displayed without a frame if desired.
Enjoy!

Green Apple reflected in Silver 6" x 6" oil SOLD

Gold Ewer with Red Apple 8" x 10" oil SOLD

SOLD
(click here to bid) or to check other auctions.

My wife picked up this gold ewer at an antique store and brought it home for me to paint. I'm glad she did. I've painted a lot of shiny reflective objects. Most of them silver. I liked the challenge of the gold color. The colors reflected in it are not as pure as those reflected in silver. Objects reflected in gold or brass pick up the yellow-ish color of it. Enjoy!

Green Apple with Cloth 10" x 8" oil

(click here to bid) or to check other auctions.

I like the contrast between the soft cloth and the hard shiny surface of the apple.
Enjoy the big game today.

Boardwalk - Monopoly 10" x 8" oil SOLD

This is number five in my "reminds me of being a kid series". Boardwalk is the most treasured spot on the monopoly board(at least it was when we played as kids). This one is a little larger than the other two monopoly paintings I've done. I liked the way it turned out. If you look at the top hat you can really see a lot of colors reflected in it. Enjoy!
