About the drawing: the entire image is drawn. The background, paper, string, balloon and tape were all drawn using graphite, charcoal, pastel, art marker and colored pencil.
What is Trompe l'Oeil? Trompe l'Oeil is a French term the means "to deceive the eye". It is an art teqnique involving realistic imagery in order to create the optical illusion that the depicted objects exist in three dimensions.
In this drawing it appears that this paper man is holding on to a paper balloon that appears to be "floating" off of the paper. ENJOY!
