Original Drawing by Artist, John A. Clapp
"She Loves Me"
5" x 7"

Graphite, charcoal, pastel and colored pencil on 100 lb acid free Stathmore Bristol smooth paper.
About the drawing: the entire image is drawn. The background, paper and tape were all drawn using graphite, charcoal, pastel and colored pencil.
What is Trompe l'Oeil?Trompe l'Oeil is a French term the means "to deceive the eye". It is an art teqnique involving realistic imagery in order to create the optical illusion that the depicted objects exist in three dimensions.
In this piece, the paper man is holding a paper flower that seems to be coming off of the surface, and as you can see he's already plucked one petal to try to answer the question.
